いよいよ待望のヒトの全プロテオームの定量解析技術を九州大学ヒトプロテオーム解析センター・センター長の中山敬一教授らが完成、近くLSIメディエンスがヒトの1244種の代謝酵素の受託定量解析を開始します。「今までの代謝パスウェイは全て同じ太さで代謝プロセスが表現されてきたが、定量的に解析すると律速の代謝プロセスを支配する酵素の分子数は明らかに少なかった。これからのサイエンスは点の解析から面へと、定量プロテオーム解析によって変化する」（中山教授）。メタボローム分析と組み合わせれば、間違いなく今までの代謝パスウェイの世界が変わります。今回の技術突破によって、癌の代謝変化（ワールブルグ効果）や代謝性疾患などは、今後、パスウェイ創薬の標的となり得ることが明らかになるでしょう。癌免疫療法の次の戦場が見えてきました。

日東電工は2016年12月9日、ライフサイエンス関連事業に関する記者説明会を開催した。??秀雄社長は、肝硬変を対象に開発していた核酸医薬のND-L02-s0201について、米Bristol-Myers Squibb（BMS）社と独占的開発、製造、販売権を許諾するライセンス契約を締結した理由について、「フェーズIIb/IIIのスピードアップと承認取得の精度を高めるため」と説明した（関連記事1）。
