米国立衛生研究所(NIH)の小林久隆氏の研究グループが、光免疫療法を利用して、制御性T細胞を腫瘍内だけで選択的に除去すると、CD8陽性T細胞やナチュラルキラー(NK)細胞などのエフェクター細胞が活性化され、腫瘍縮小が見られることを動物実験で明らかにした。詳細は、Science Translational Medicine誌2016年8月17日号に報告された。
