米Amgen社は2016年6月8日、慢性片頭痛の予防療法の適応で開発している抗体医薬erenumab（AMG334）のグローバルフェーズII試験（20120295）のトップラインデータを発表した。主要評価項目である月あたりの片頭痛日数がerenumab 70、140mgのいずれの用量群でもプラセボ群と比べ有意に減少した。

米Acucela社と大塚製薬は2016年6月14日、ドライ型加齢黄斑変性（AMD）治療薬候補「ACU-4429」（エミクススタト）と緑内障治療薬候補「OPA-6566」について、共同開発・販売契約を解消すると発表した。これはエミクススタトのAMDの地図状萎縮に関するフェーズII/IIIで主要評価項目を達成できなかったことに伴うもの。契約解約に伴う費用はいずれにも発生しない。
