英政府は、英国がEUを離脱するまでの2年間における医薬品業界の対応を検討するために、官民一体となった実務者グループ（WG）を設置する。英医薬専門誌「Pharmaphorum」や「EP Vantage」などの報道によると、英国政府George Freemanライフサイエンス相が、2016年7月6日の会見で明らかにしたという。

東京大学大学院医学研究科神経病理学分野・附属病院早期・探索開発推進室の岩坪威教授らが、8月23日（13時〜18時）に東京大学伊藤記念ホールでアルツハイマー病の超早期介入をテーマにした国際シンポジウムを開催する。アルツハイマー病は発症してからでは根本的メカニズムを標的とした薬物（疾患修飾薬）が効き難く、より早期の介入効果に期待が集まっている。超早期介入の世界の趨勢、さらに日本ではこれらをどのように進めていくべきか、そのために必要な官民パートナーシップのあり方なども討議される予定だ。
