ヒアルロン酸機能性研究会が2015年3月12日に設立された。3月19日に早稲田大学日本橋キャンパス（東京・中央）で開催された記者説明会で、会長に就任した早稲田大学ナノ理工学研究機構規範科学総合研究所の矢澤一良・研究院教授と、監事/コンプライアンス委員に就任した菅野道廣・九州大学名誉教授/熊本県立大学名誉教授が説明を行った。
