米California大学Berkeley校は2015年2月9日、Energy and Resources GroupのDaniel Kammen教授率いる研究チームが、バイオマス発電と炭素捕捉・隔離を組み合わることにより、北米西部地域の発電システムは実際に排出される炭素よりも多い炭素を貯蔵することができ、21世紀の後半までに全体でゼロ炭素となる社会の実現に重要な貢献をするという研究結果を出したと発表した。

米Cellular Biomedicine Group（CBMG）社は2015年2月9日、中国・北京のPLA総合病院（PLAGH）のキメラ抗原受容体発現T細胞（CAR-T）療法、同療法に用いるベクター、CD19、CD20、CD30、ヒトEGFR/HER1の免疫腫瘍学的な特許（いずれも係属中）、同療法のフェーズI/IIの臨床データと大規模な製造に関する技術を取得したと発表した。CAR-T療法では、癌患者自身の免疫細胞が腫瘍を認識して攻撃するよう、遺伝子組換えを行う。
