米CohBar社は2015年3月3日、同社の研究者らが、MOTS-cを発見したと発表した。MOTS-cは、新規のミトコンドリア由来のペプチドホルモンで、脂肪含量の高い食事法による肥満を防ぎ、運動を行った時と同じ手法で、代謝を促進する。研究成果は、2015年3月3日のCell Metabolism誌に掲載された。

米Acucela社で内紛が起きている。Acucela社は2015年3月4日、SBIホールディングスとAcucela社のファウンダーで現会長の窪田良氏が共同で現経営陣の解任などを求めていた株主提案に対し、反対すると発表した。

さて、内閣官房健康・医療戦略推進本部がゲノム医療実現推進協議会を2月に発足、現在、政府の内外でゲノム医療の社会実装の議論が進んでいます。しかし、そこには思想というか、哲学というか、あるいは目指すべきものというか、に関して、大混乱が存在しています。その結果、医療界や再診医療、生命科学のそれぞれの大家を集めた推進協議会ですが、とても国民が納得するようなゲノム医療の姿を描ききれることは困難です。そもそもゲノム医療とは一体何なのか？ この表題が錯誤しております。Precision Medicine（精密医療）を米国民100万のゲノムとカルテ情報を統合して実現しようとした米Obama大統領の考えの深さに比べて、ゲノム医療という言葉の浅薄さに、唖然としております。日本政府が一環して間違いを犯して来ました、手段と目的の取り違えをここでも犯そうとしていました。
