東大、1型糖尿病にかかりやすいHLA遺伝子型は安定性が低いHLA蛋白質を作る、JCI誌で発表

東京大学大学院医学研究科国際保健学専攻人類遺伝学分野の宮寺浩子助教（現在は国立国際医療研究センター肝炎・免疫研究センター上級研究員/東京大客員研究員）と徳永勝士教授らは、ヒト白血球抗原（HLA）蛋白質の安定性を大規模に解析し、1型糖尿病のかかりやすさに関連するHLA遺伝子型が安定性の低いHLA蛋白質を作ることを見いだいし、The Journal of Clinical Investigation誌（IF13.765）で2014年12月8日オンライン版で発表した。“HLA蛋白質は安定性が高いほど細胞表面に発現されやすくなる”という特性に着目して培養細胞を用いた安定性測定系を構築し、解析に用いた。この測定系については京都市で開かれる第43回日本免疫学会学術集会で2014年12月11日に関連のポスター発表を行う。

米Boeing社は2014年12月3日、どこでも入手可能で陸上交通にも広く使われている持続可能バイオ燃料の「グリーンディーゼル」を使った世界初のフライトを実施したと発表した。Boeing社は「ecoDemonstrator 787」型のフライトテスト用航空機の左のエンジンに15％のグリーンディーゼルと85％の石油ジェット燃料をブレンドした燃料を動力源として使った。
