米Boeing社は2014年12月3日、どこでも入手可能で陸上交通にも広く使われている持続可能バイオ燃料の「グリーンディーゼル」を使った世界初のフライトを実施したと発表した。Boeing社は「ecoDemonstrator 787」型のフライトテスト用航空機の左のエンジンに15％のグリーンディーゼルと85％の石油ジェット燃料をブレンドした燃料を動力源として使った。

2014年12月4日に開催した次世代パーソナルゲノム・サービス（PGS）フォーラム設立記念シンポジウムはまさに、米国食品医薬品局が疾患リスクに対する情報提供業務を言い渡し、事実上、PGSを凍結していた、米23andMe社が英国で業務を再開、しかもどうどうと欧州の診断薬基準であるCマークまで取得してサービスを全世界で再開した発表した日と偶然一致しました。日米欧の次世代PGSが地球上でシンクロした1日でありました。満員の聴衆は保険会社からICT企業、製薬企業、検査ラボなど今まで席を同じくすることが少なかった異業種が集いました｡我が国でも次世代PGSが、国民の健康に貢献する一歩を歩み始めたのです。
