経済協力開発機構（OECD）と国連食糧農業機関（FAO）は2014年7月11日、今後10年間の世界の農業を展望する「OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook 2014-2023」と題する報告書を公表した。今後10年間、穀物の価格は落ち着きを取り戻し、肉類・乳製品とバイオ燃料の生産は作物の生産を上回るペースで増加する見込み。

大阪と名古屋にもソフトバンクPepperが登場

ソフトバンクが開発した人型ロボット「Ｐｅｐｐｅｒ（ペッパー）」が１８日、大阪駅北?側のグランフロント大阪（大阪市北区）に入る携帯電話販売店で「店員」としてデビュー?した。６月５日の発表以降、首都圏以外でのお披露目は初めて。

同社は首都圏の販売店計１２店舗にペッパーを置いている。この日からは大阪市と名古屋?市の１店舗ずつに配備。全国で店舗数を増やし集客増を狙う。
大阪と名古屋の後も順次増えていくとのこと。
まだ見られない地域の人たちも、 ソフトバンクの案内サイト： Pepperがソフトバンクショップにやってくる を定期的にチェックしてみると良いと思います。
都内に既に配置されている、ショップ用のPepperの中のプログラムも改良されていくと良いのですが。
見えない改良は日々行われているみたいですが、見える改良も。

対象年齢8〜12歳の教育用ロボット「 ROMO 」。
iPhoneまたはiPod touchに専用アプリをダウンロードして、
クローラ付きの本体にセットして使う知育ロボットです。
日本では、ルンバを販売しているセールスオンデマンド社が代理店になって販売開始しました。
価格は1万4500円。
2014年7月24日頃から出荷予定。
このROMO、基本的に子供向けの知育ロボットなので、設定があり、
宇宙からやってきたROMOに対して、
子供たちが命を吹き込んであれこれやらせる、という体になっています。

知育ロボット「Romo（ロモ）」が我が家にやってきたので、5歳の娘とともに一緒になって遊んだ様子をレビューしてみる
この方の、
ルンバが掃除をするという機能をもって家庭に導入されたロボットだとすると、Romoの機能は「親子が一緒に考える時間を作る」ことなのかもしれません。
という感想には「なるほどな」と思いました。
教育用ロボットに限らず、もともとロボットは、「３者関係」が生まれたときに面白いものだと思うんですよね。

MTIメディアラボで、ソーシャルロボットの研究をしているシンシア・ブリジール（Cynthia Breazeal）准教授らが開発。
Jibo.comから499ドルで、クラウドファンディング Indiegogo で予約。
2015年末出荷予定。
IEEE Spectrumの記事 によれば、開発者バージョンはまた別でSDK付きで599ドル。
