ドイツimmatics biotechnologies社は、2014年4月23日、神経膠芽腫患者を対象とするがん治療用ワクチンIMA950のフェーズI試験で好結果が得られたことに基づいて、英Cancer Research UK、および、その傘下にあって開発商品化を担当している英Cancer Research Technology (CRT）社とライセンス契約を結んだと発表した。

米Hyperion Therapeutics社は2014年4月24日、Clal Biotechnology Industries社のイスラエルの子会社であるAndromeda Biotech社を買収すると発表した。Andromeda社は、1型糖尿病を対象とした画期的新薬の免疫療法剤であるDiaPep277の開発に特化している。1型糖尿病患者は、米国、欧州を合わせて、年間3万5000人が新たに診断される、希少疾患である。DiaPep277は、新たに1型糖尿病と診断された患者を対象として、検証的フェーズIII臨床試験が行われている。同フェーズIII臨床試験は、既に患者登録が終了しており、2015年の第1四半期に結果がまとまると予想されている。

千葉大学は4月25日、同大循環器内科教授の小室一成氏（当時、現在は東大循環器内科教授）らが行ったバルサルタン（商品名ディオバン）に関する臨床研究VARTで、データの不一致や統計解析方法の誤りが確認されたと発表した。研究に関わった医師の証言から、データがノバルティス ファーマ社の社員に渡り、統計解析に関与した可能性が高いと判断した。千葉大理事の中谷晴昭氏は、「研究の信頼性は低く、科学的価値が乏しい上、利益相反上の問題もあった」と説明。近日中にプロトコール論文、主論文、サブ解析論文の著者に論文取り下げを勧告する。
