Verdezyne社、バイオドデカン二酸のパイロット・スケール生産に成功  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2014-4-24 0:00)

米Verdezyne社は2014年4月21日、自社独自の酵母技術プラットフォームとダウンストリーム・プロセスを使い、バイオベースのドデカン二酸（DDDA：dodecanedioic acid）を1t以上生産することに成功したと発表した。Michigan Biotechnology Institute（MBI）とMichigan州立大学（MSU）のBioeconomy Institute（BEI）がVerdezyne社に協力して4000L規模でバイオDDDAプロセスによる試験生産を実行した。この試験生産の結果、Verdezyne社のプロセスはスケールアップが可能であることが確認され、将来の顧客やパートナー向けにポリマー・グレードの材料を生産することができた。

ゴールデンウイークを前に、日経バイオテクにも新人が配属されてきました。高橋厚妃記者です。大変久しぶりのことで、部内の雰囲気は盛り上がっています。また、私は5月から、弊社が薬剤師向けに発行している日経ドラッグインフォメーションという雑誌（http://medical.nikkeibp.co.jp/inc/all/di/）に異動することになりました。メールマガジンを担当したのは1年半ほどでしたが、大変お世話になりました。
