英国立医療技術評価機構（NICE）は2014年5月8日、アステラス製薬の前立腺がん治療薬Xtandi(エンザルタミド)について、英国民保健サービス（NHS）での使用を推奨する内容の最終ガイダンス案を公表、翌9日からパブリックコメントの募集を開始した。

米国では2012年にバイオ後続品（バイオシミラー）に関するガイドライン案が出され、審査手数料に関するプログラムも新たに開始されたが、バイオシミラーはまだ承認されていない。承認のためにどのような試験が必要かは、米食品医薬品局（FDA）との話し合いを基に個々に対応されるわけだが、基本的な考えとしてはcomparative bioequivalence試験で同等性が示されればフェーズIIIは必要ないとされている。
