雨降って地固まる。両事件を教訓としてわが国の科学研究基盤を急ぎ立て直すことを急がなくてはなりません。基礎研究では米国のように研究公正局(Office of Research Integrity)を作るべきか? そして臨床研究では秋までに、被験者保護と研究の質の担保のための新規立法をすべきか? 検討を急ぐべきでしょう。私の願いは、両方ともYESです。これなくしては医療イノベーションはあり得ないのです。先週木曜日(2014年3月27日)に開かれた厚生労働省ディオバンの捏造事件調査委員会が出した最終報告書にその理由が書き込まれました。それは我が国の臨床研究の大きな欠陥の指摘でした。
