ラクオリア創薬は2014年2月17日、2013年12月期（通期）の決算説明会を開催した。連結の売上高は2億2800万円、営業利損失が21億3700万円、経常損失は18億1900万円。純損失は11億800万円の赤字となった。

米国研究製薬工業協会（PhRMA）は2014年2月11日、「開発中の薬剤：糖尿病」（Medicine in Development：Diabetes）と題する報告書を発表、そのなかで、現在、会員企業が開発している糖尿病治療薬（承認申請済みを含む）は180剤に上ることを明らかにした。

GoogleではAndroid部門の元責任者Andy Rubin氏が昨年、同社の研究部門「Google X」に異動したと伝えられた。Wall Street Journalによると、同氏とHon HaiのTerry Gou（郭台銘）会長は最近になって面談し、ロボット技術について話し合った。この面談でRubin氏が最新のオートメーション技術のデモを行い、Gou会長がそれに感銘を受けた。Rubin氏はGoogleが買収する企業の技術を生かすためにHon Haiの機械工学に関する専門知識が必要だとし、Gou会長に協力を求めたとWall Street Journalは伝えている。
