日本健康・栄養食品協会（日健栄協、JHNFA）は2014年1月17日午後、ホテルニューオータニ（東京・千代田）で新春賀詞交歓会を開催し、400人が集まった。JHNFA会長の山東昭子・参議院議員は、「安倍総理が年男で、私は年女。午年だが全力疾走ではなく、7分ほどできちんと手綱をさばいていくべき」などとあいさつした。

日本健康・栄養食品協会（日健栄協）は「平成26年健康食品新春セミナー」を2014年1月17日午前中に1時間、都内で開催し、200人ほどが参加した。最初に「社会保障制度と健康食品」と題した講演を行った鴨下一郎・衆議院議員（医学博士）は、自ら幹事長を務めている「健康食品の機能性表示」研究会の取り組みも紹介した。続いて内閣官房健康・医療戦略室の藤本康二参事官が「健康・医療政策について」と題して講演した。
