タキイ種苗は、「やさいのクリスマスケーキ−『桃太郎トマト』と『京くれない』で日本を元気に!」発表会を2013年12月11日に都内で開催した。トマトとニンジンをアレンジしたサンタの衣装を身に着けたKONISHIKIさんと、フィギュアスケート風ドレスの本田望結ちゃん、タキイ種苗広報出版部の三野雅之部長が登壇した。タキイ種苗は、健康維持機能を多く含み味も良い「機能性野菜」の研究プロジェクトを約20年前から開始し、「ファイトリッチ」シリーズとして事業展開していることも訴求した。リコピン豊富なニンジン新品種の京くれないを2013年6月に発売して、ファイトリッチシリーズは12品種になった。
