NEC、卓上サイズの小型ロボット「PaPeRo petit」を発表

NECは11日、新型のロボット「PaPeRo petit(パペロ・プティ)」と、それを活用したアプリケーションを提供するためのクラウド基盤から成る、クラウド連携型ロボットプラットフォームによる「PaPeRoパートナープログラム」を開始すると発表した。アプリケーションパートナー、ビジネスパートナー、そしてNECの3者が連携して、ロボットサービスをエンドユーザーに提供する。
アプリケーションパートナー向けにはNECからロボットのAPIが開示されるほか、いくつかのサンプルプログラムが提供される。NECでは同事業を世界展開し、今後3年間で100億円規模の事業へと成長させていくとしている。パートナー企業の目標数は100社程度。

米バイオ燃料の業界団体であるBiotechnology Industry Organization（BIO）、Growth Energy、およびRenewable Fuels Association（RFA）は2013年11月4日、コロンビア特別区にある米巡回控訴裁判所に、米環境保護局（EPA）の設定した2013年再生可能燃料基準（RFS）の最終規定を支持して、米石油燃料業界のMonroe Energy、American Petroleum Institute（API）およびAmerican Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers（AFPM）が2013年RFSに反対して現在起している訴訟に対し介入するよう要請する申立書を提出したと発表した。申立書は11月1日（金）に提出された。
