イスラエルEvogene社は2013年9月16日、100％子会社のEvofuel社が、バイオディーゼルの生産や他の工業用途の代替原料としてのトウゴマの実（castor bean）を開発するため、ブラジルで3年間実施した野外実地試験を成功裡に完了したと発表した（関連記事）。Evofuel社はキャスター種子を2016年に商品化する予定である。

Tweet ▼久しぶりに六本木ヒルズとミッドタウンをぶらぶらして、高級マンションを眺めながら赤坂あたりまで散歩した。日本はカネ持ってる人たち、それなりのキャッシュフローがある人たちにとっては天国みたいなところなんじゃないかなーと感じた。
▼そのあと秋葉原に行って、旧万世橋駅にできたばかりの「 mAAch ecute（マーチエキュート）神田万世橋 」を見物する。うまいこと作ったなあ。
▼晩飯食ってるとき、すぐ近くのテーブルに何だかいわゆる「同伴」っぽい人たちが座り、不思議な会話をしていた。今の秋葉原は、コジャレな場所と、以前からのパーツ屋の名残、電気屋、B級メシ屋、メイド喫茶、さらにはよく分からないグレーな店が並び、歩いてる人も含めてカオスな感じ。

中国で、ことしの春、感染者が相次いで出たＨ７Ｎ９型の鳥インフルエンザウイルスは、鼻やのどの粘膜に取り付き、せきやくしゃみでヒトからヒトに広がりやすいよう遺伝子が変化していることがオランダのグループの研究で分かりました。
オランダのエラスムス大学病院の研究グループは、Ｈ７Ｎ９型の鳥インフルエンザウイルスの感染力を調べようと、１９歳から７３歳までの男女１２人から気道や肺などの細胞を提供してもらい実際にウイルスが取りつくかどうか実験を行いました。
その結果、Ｈ７Ｎ９型のウイルスは、気道や肺だけでなく、鼻やのどの細胞にも付着するなど、ほかの鳥インフルエンザウイルスにはない特徴を持っていることが分かったということです。
