2013年10月３日に横浜で開催された日本癌学会学術集会のランチョンセミナーで、国立がん研究センター研究所TR総合支援グループ臨床薬理部門長の濱田哲暢氏が、「質量分析システムの最先端創薬・診断への応用〜質量顕微鏡を用いた新規抗がん剤のPhese1試験に向けて〜」と題して講演を行った。島津製作所が、今年4月に販売を開始したイメージング質量顕微鏡（MALDI Mass Spectrometry Imaging）を、Phase1試験の評価項目である薬物動態（PK）試験で応用しようという試みだ。
