日本のバイオ・医薬企業とICT企業、46社が都内で密かに集っている研究会でこのメールを書いております。今朝、日経新聞の一面で取り上げられたソニーも参加しているところが面白い。まだ、広報から確認の電話もないので、詳細は不明ですが、米Ilumina社とソニーが合弁企業を設立、わが国で受託遺伝子解析サービスを行うという主旨の記事でした。この流れは十分ありうる話しですが、ちょっと参入が遅れた感じも否めません。むしろ今では、巨大な塊となったヒト・ゲノムのビッグデータは大した価値を生じません。むしろ、この研究会で議論されている精密な臨床情報とマルチオミックスデータベースの組み合わせこそが価値を生む時代となっています。受託解析事業だけでは、中国のBGI社との競争に疲れ果てることが見えております。絞り込めば国際的にも質の高いわが国の臨床診断、その臨床情報をいかに継続的に収集し、連結可能匿名化により個人毎の解析を可能にしたデータベースこそがわが国の武器となると考えます。9月10日午後には東京国際フォーラムで医療関連データベースの充実と活用というシンポジウムが開催されます。これを見ると、わが国には問題はあるものの各種 ...
