米化学会（ACS：American Chemical Society）のニュースサービスは2013年9月4日、米Biosolar社が、光化学（photochemistry）反応により油脂からプラスチックの原料となるオレフィン類を生産できる、グリーンで持続可能な今までに類を見ないプロセスを開発したと報じた。この新しいプロセスはラードから廃棄食用油に至るさまざまな種類の植物油や動物性油脂を、プラスチックを作るのに重要な石油由来成分に変換することができるという。

Tweet ▼国際福祉機器展。いくつか初展示のものを出していた大企業があったけど、ひっそりと新規、みたいな雰囲気だった。メディアも含めて、意外と気づいてない人多いんじゃないかな。毎年来てないと気づかないと思う。 ▼福祉機器展に行くと、この領域には技術の人たちが入る余地がまだまだメチャクチャあるなあと感じる。いま出展されてるモノを見てても、これもっと良くなるよねってところがいっぱいあるし、実際に毎年少しずつ改良されてる。 ▼某社のブースでもらった名刺がぜんぜん違う会社の名刺で、一瞬、共同研究してるのかと思った。単なる間違いだったんだけど。 ▼会場をぶらぶらしていて、「介護」まではいかないんだけど高齢者向け、みたいなモノがもっと増えればいいのになと思った。案外そこがすっぽり抜けてる感じがする。TOTOは多少そういうベクトルの商品開発も行ってるみたいだけど、もっと積極的にやってほしいし、他の企業も続いてほしいな。 ▼高齢者は自分の生活を変えたくない人が多いし、ストックはあってもキャッシュフローが限られているので、本当に「必要」にならないと、実際には購入まで至らないというのもまた事実だろう。「い ...
