ゼネラルヘルスケア（東京・港、竹澤慎一郎代表取締役）は、2013年秋に創刊する予定であるオープンアクセス（OA）学術論文誌「Science Postprint（SPP）」の論文募集を2013年7月22日に開始した。「Research Article」「Clinical Trial」の2種類の研究論文に加え、特定分野のホットトピックスを概説する「Review Article」も募集している。OA誌は、誰もが無料で論文全文を閲覧できるので読者からの購読収入は無い。ジャーナル発行に必要な費用の多くは論文投稿者が論文出版加工料（APC）として負担する。APC費用は一般的に2000ドル前後より高額に設定されていることが多いのに比べ、SPPではAPC費用を900ドル/13万5000円と安めに設定した。

臨床研究適正評価教育機構（J-CLEAR）は2013年7月20日に会見を開き、KYOTO HEART Studyの解析用データで人為的な操作が明らかになったことに対し、機構としての見解を明らかにした。理事長の桑島巖氏（写真上）は、「研究者に臨床研究のスキルがないために、不正が入り込む余地を与えてしまった。データを管理する立場にあった総括責任医師の責任は極めて重い」と強い口調で話した。
