理研BSI、RINESがモノアミンオキシダーゼの分解を促して正常な情動行動を制御  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-8-7 6:00)

理化学研究所脳科学総合研究センター（理研BSI）行動発達障害研究チームの樺山実幸研究員と有賀純チームリーダー（TL）らは、脳に発現する小胞体膜上のたんぱく質RINESが、抗うつ薬や抗不安薬の標的の1つであるモノアミンオキシダーゼA（MAO-A）の分解を促して、正常な情動行動を制御していることを発見した。米The Journal of Neuroscience（インパクトファクター6.908）オンライン版で2013年8月7日に発表した。

植物バイオテクノロジーに関して科学的根拠のある情報を伝える非営利組織（NPO）、Council for Biotechnology Information（CBI）は2013年7月29日、遺伝子組み換え種子（GMOs）を開発している農業バイオ企業がGMOsに関する正確な情報や、難しい質問への回答、食料がどのように栽培されるかに関する情報を提供する、広範な新しいイニシアチブを合同で開始すると発表した。「GMO Answers（www.GMOAnswers.com）」というのが新しく立ち上げられたサイトで、GMOsに関するQ&A、GMOsについての背景、農業での活用法、研究データなどの情報を提供する。アクセスが容易な公共のオンライン・リソースとして初めての試みとなる。

理研BSI他、てんかんの治療標的にパルブアルブミン陽性抑制性神経細胞  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2013-8-7 0:00)

理化学研究所脳科学総合研究センター（理研BSI）神経遺伝研究チームの山川和弘チームリーダーと荻原郁夫研究員らは、精神発達障害を伴う乳児難治てんかんのモデルマウスにおいて発症の主要な引き金となる抑制性神経細胞の一種を特定し、さらに興奮性神経細胞での原因遺伝子産物であるナトリウムチャネルであるNav1.1たんぱく質の半減がてんかんに伴う突然死を抑制する効果があることを発見した。理研BSI行動遺伝学技術開発チーム、国立遺伝学研究所、群馬大学、熊本大学、米Harvard Universityなどとの共同研究の成果を、英Human Molecular Genetics誌（インパクトファクター7.692）のオンライン版で2013年8月7日に発表した。この研究は、文部科学省「脳科学研究戦略推進プログラム」の事業として実施された。理研は8月5日にこの成果に関する記者説明会を文科省で開催した。
