「DOHaD研究の発展に向けて：病態発症のメカニズム理解、そしてその先へ」をテーマとする第2回日本DOHaD研究会年会が2013年6月7日から8日まで厚生労働省戸山研究庁舎で開催された。年会長は国立健康・栄養研究所栄養疫学研究部の瀧本秀美部長が務め、175人ほどが参加した。2012年6月設立の日本DOHaD研究会が2012年8月に国立保健医療科学院（埼玉県和光市）で開催した第1回年会は約110人が参加したのに比べ、参加者数は6割増えた。

第7回日本エピジェネティクス研究会年会は、九州大学大学院医学研究院応用幹細胞医科学部門の中島欽一部門長/教授が年会長を務めて2013年5月30日から31日に奈良市で開催され、325人が参加した。この年会の会期に合わせて幹事会と総会が開かれ、代表幹事は、九州大学生体防御医学研究所の佐々木裕之所長/ゲノム機能制御学部門エピゲノム制御学分野教授に代わり、副代表幹事だった国立がん研究センター研究所の牛島俊和上席副所長/エピゲノム解析分野長が着任した。
