世界トップレベル研究拠点プログラム(WPI)拠点である九州大学カーボンニュートラル・エネルギー国際研究所/工学研究院の小江誠司教授らは総合科学研究機構、茨城大学との共同研究により、ニッケル-鉄ヒドロゲナーゼを模範として、同様の酵素活性を発揮する新しいニッケル-鉄触媒を開発した。ニッケル-鉄ヒドロゲナーゼによる水素活性化のメカニズムの解明や、水素エネルギー利用技術の発展に寄与する成果だ。米Science誌オンライン版で2013年2月7日(米東部時刻)に発表する。
