Case Western Reserve University、組織や病変部のフィンガープリント分析ができるMRI手法を開発

米Case Western Reserve Universityと米University Hospitals (UH) Case Medical Centerの研究チームは2013年3月13日、体内組織や病変部のフィンガープリント分析ができる核磁気共鳴画像法（MRI）の新たな手法を開発したと発表した。この技術を定期診断などで用いることで、がんや多発性硬化症、心疾患、その他の疾患を治療が可能な早期に検出できる可能性があるという。研究論文はNature誌に掲載された。

日本化学会は、2013年3月22日から25日に滋賀県草津市で開催する第93春季年会の発表ハイライト11題を、3月13日の記者会見で発表した。ペプチドリームのPatrich C. Reid常務取締役CSOが3月23日に招待講演を行う「非古典的ペプチド薬剤開発とペプチドリーム流ペプチドモデル」が、このハイライトに選ばれたことを受け、ペプチドリーム社外取締役を務める菅裕明・東京大学大学院理学系研究科化学専攻教授がハイライト発表の概要を説明した。菅教授は日本化学会2012年度学術賞の受賞が決まった10人のうちの1人。「RNA触媒および翻訳複合系を用いた擬天然ペプチドの合成」で、学術賞（天然物化学・生体関連化学系分野）を受賞した講演を3月23日に行う。菅教授はReid常務の招待講演の座長も務める。
