東京理科大学理学部応用化学科の椎名勇教授（写真中央）、がん研究会がん化学療法センター分子薬理部の旦慎吾副部長（写真右）と大橋愛美主任研究助手（写真左）らは、ゴルジ体の小胞体輸送機能の阻害作用を持つ化合物の全合成に成功し、Journal of Medicinal Chemistryに2013年2月7日に発表した。

英Bangor大学は2013年2月1日、熱帯で「グリーン」バイオ燃料用としてパーム油を採取するためヤシの木を栽培すると気候変動を加速すると、同校の研究者を中心とする国際チームが指摘したと発表した。研究者らは、熱帯泥炭地帯にヤシの木のプランテーションを作ると先史時代の二酸化炭素を大気中に放出してしまうとして、バイオ燃料用作物の栽培で温室効果ガスの排出を削減できるという考え方に疑問を投げかけた。

以前ご紹介した、
・ 「Big A ロボット・ファイティング」重さ450kgのヒト型ロボットがバトルする番組が米国で２月から始まる
の続報です。
アメリカのケーブルテレビ局「Syfy」で、2/26から放送だそうです。
下記の動画を見ると、少なくとも一部は既に収録も終わってるようですね。
こちらのほうが雰囲気が分かります。
コントローラーを身につけて操縦してる様子も映ってます。
こりゃーアメリカの観客じゃなくても燃えそう。

このロボットは自立してるわけじゃなくて後ろからアームで支えられてます。
ですがエンターテイメント業界で、文化的な側面も含めた広い意味での「ロボット」の活用が
本格的に始まり出したことを感じます。
