米DiaTech Oncology社は2013年1月15日、複数の施設で実施された臨床試験の結果から、同社のカスタマイズされた化学療法感度予測テスト（製品名：「MiCKアッセイ」、「CorrectChemo」）の結果に基づき決定された治療計画を受けた患者は、より良好な転帰が得られ、生存期間が延長することが示されたと発表した。

ユーグレナは、ミドリムシを機能性素材として活用するため2005年8月に設立されたベンチャー。2012年12月20日に東証マザーズに上場した。ユーグレナはミドリムシの学名。植物と動物の双方の形質を兼ね備えており、ビタミンやミネラル、アミノ酸などの栄養素を豊富に含有する。細胞壁が無いため消化吸収が容易で、ミドリムシ特有の難消化性多孔質繊維パラミロンには腸内でコレステロールや脂肪を吸着し、体外に排出する働きがある。
