皆様こんにちは。水曜日のコラムを担当する日経バイオテク編集長の橋本宗明です。 　米Amgen社がアイスランドのdeCODE genetics社を買収しました。deCODE社は、世界最大級のゲノム解析設備とゲノムデータベースを有し、疾患に関連する遺伝子多型や創薬標的となる遺伝子の研究で数多くの成果を挙げてきたことは、今さら説明の必要もないかと思います。09年11月に一度破産の憂き目にあいましたが、その後、投資ファンドの下で非上場企業として再建を果たし、疾患関連遺伝子などの科学的な発見を高い頻度でNature誌などに報告しています。

本日はこれから厚生科学審議会技術部会に出席して参ります。 　前回のメールでも、それから月曜日の日経バイオテクONLINEメールでも書きましたが、本日午後3時からの会議で、今までゲノムコホート研究の聳え立つ壁となっていた3省庁のヒトゲノム遺伝子解析に関する倫理指針が改定されます。部会了承となれば、審議会本会議への報告を経て、大臣告示と自動的に進みます。勿論、経産省と文部科学省との調整も必要なので、年内に告示されれは上出来です。
