Tweet ▼初めてiPad miniの実物を店頭で触ってみた。別メーカーのタブレットもあとで触ってみて、300gと400gの違いは大きいことを実感。そりゃ300gから400gだと1.3〜1.4倍くらいだから、違いが大きいのは当然だ。ネットに繋がってなかったのでブラウズやマップが試せなかったのが残念。僕はうちではiPadを愛用してるけど、小さくなったということすら感じないくらいよくできてる端末だなと思った。

アメリカのケーブルテレビ局「Syfy」で、２月からヒト型ロボットがバトルする「Big A : Robots Fighting」が始まるとアナウンス。 Syfyのfacebook と「Entertainment Weekly」の独占記事「 Giant boxing robots reality show unveiled by Syfy 」で明らかにされました。ヒュー?ジャックマン主演の映画「リアル・スティール」でやっていた2m以上あるヒト型ロボットによるボクシングのリアル版です。
「Entertainment Weekly」の記事 を見ると、ロボットは２m４０cmくらい、重さは450kg（1000ポンド）程度と、映画「リアル・スティール」と同じくらい。ただし、実際にはこういうロボットを自立させることは無理なので、後ろからおそらく油圧アーム等で支えているようです。
こういうロボットが文字通り火花を散らし、油をまき散らしながら闘うとのこと。出場するのは１２チームで、カーレーサーとかオリンピック選手などのほか、ジョージ・ルーカスの娘も出るとか。それぞれのチームは「ロボ・ジョッキー」と呼ばれるファイターと、「ロボ・テック」と呼ばれるロボットエンジニアから構成されるとあります。
