こんにちは。第2、第4金曜日を担当する日経バイオテク副編集長の河野修己です。金曜日の休日があったため、久しぶりの登場です。
先月の話ですが、タイの古都チェンマイで開催されたアジア細胞治療学会(ACTO)を取材してきました。私にとっては初めてのタイ。チェンマイはこじんまりとした街で、中心部にはレストランやマッサージ店、雑貨店などが建ち並んでいました。道路はかなりの部分が舗装されておらず土煙が舞っていましたが、それでも寺院の金箔で覆われた建造物などにタイらしさを感じることができました。
