2012年10月29日から3月期決算の会社の中間決算発表が本格的に始まる。大手製薬企業を見ると、29日は田辺三菱製薬、31日には大日本住友製薬、第一三共、武田薬品工業と発表が集中する。11月に入り1日はエーザイとアステラス製薬、13日には大塚ホールディングスと7社が出揃う。

大日本住友製薬と武田薬品工業は2012年10月25日、非定型抗精神病薬塩酸ルラシドン(開発コード:SM-13496)の販売許可申請が欧州医薬品庁(EMA)に受理されたと発表した。ルラシドンは大日本住友製薬が創製した1日1回経口投与の非定型抗精神病薬。
