本誌は2012年9月20日、米Intellect Neurosciences社と英MRC Technology社がアミロイドβに対するヒト化モノクローナル抗体82E1（Intellect社のコード番号はIN-N01）の開発を進めているという記事を掲載した。この抗アミロイドβ抗体は、免疫生物研研究所が起源であることが取材によって明らかとなった。

米環境保護庁（EPA）2012年9月14日、2013年ディーゼル燃料市場において使用されるべきバイオディーゼル製品の量を設定する措置を講じたと発表した。バイオディーゼル燃料は、植物油や再生可能資源からの廃油などを原料として作られる先進バイオ燃料のこと。

米NatureWorks社は2012年9月13日、ポリ乳酸（PLA）でできた「Ingeo」バイオポリマーはごみ埋め立て地において基本的に安定であり、統計的に有意なメタン発生は観察されなかったという研究結果がPolymer Degradation and Stability誌に「Assessment of anaerobic degradation of Ingeo polylactides under accelerated landfill conditions」（Volume 97, Issue 7, July 2012, Pages 1131-1141）というタイトルのピア・レビューされた論文として掲載されていると発表した。この結論はASTM （米材料試験協会）のD5526およびD5511基準に基づいて一世紀間のごみ埋め立て地の条件をシミュレーションして実施した一連のテストの結果、出されたもの。

昨今は「ロリコン？」という誤解すら持つ読者が出現するほど、日本女子サッカーのU20やU17(リトルなでしこ）に肩入れしておりますが、ロリコンは全くの誤解です。ただ、日本サッカー協会やFIFAの人材を世代毎に継続的に育成するシステムの素晴らしさをお伝えしたいのが本意です。昨日もアゼルバイジャンで見事にリトルなでしこが全米予選では無失点の強豪ブラジルを開始2分の得点から圧倒し、５：０で快勝いたしました。男子サッカーも頑張っておりますが、なでしこの強さは格別、こうした若い人材が底上げして今後10年は世界の強豪と互角の勝負が楽しめるはずです。
