日経バイオテク9月10日号「パイプライン研究」、呼吸器系疾患治療薬  from 日経バイオテクONLINE  (2012-9-14 8:09)

厚生労働省が発表した2008年の「患者調査」によると国内の気管支喘息患者は88万8000人で、同年の「人口動態調査」にはその死亡数は2348人（男性1085人、女性1263人）とある。02年の統計では、患者数は106万9000人で、死亡数は3771人だったから、ともに大きく減少した。吸入ステロイド薬やβ2刺激剤における定量噴霧式吸入器の普及、新しい機序の薬剤の発売、ガイドラインによる適正な長期管理などの成果と思われる。

JCLバイオアッセイは、分析試験の受託を専門とするCRO（臨床試験受託機関）である。日本医学臨床検査研究所（現みらかホールディングス傘下の臨床検査センター）の社内ベンチャーとして、1984年からCRO事業に取り組んできた。同社の収益の半分以上を稼ぐほどに成長し、担当役員だった籾山邦男氏を社長として2005年4月に分社化。それから4年足らずでヘラクレス市場（現JASDAQ市場）にスピード上場した。
