こんにちは。水曜日を担当する日経バイオテク編集長の橋本宗明です。 　先週金曜日、東大で開催された東大病院臨床試験セミナーを取材してきました。下の2本の記事をまとめたのでお読みいただきたいですが、臨床試験の実施体制の整備も進み、そのシーズの研究も着実に進展しつつあるようです。東大病院は07年度から2011年度までの5カ年で進められた文部科学省の橋渡し研究支援推進プログラムに採択されていますが、加えて2011年度に始まった1カ所につき年間6億円が5年間助成される早期・探索的臨床試験拠点に採択されたのが大きかったようです。

Tweet ▼注文していた『 理系の子　高校生科学オリンピックの青春 』（ジュディ ダットン／文藝春秋）が来た。 表紙袖の「小さな虫を手がかりに太古の地球環境を解明した日本人の少女。」にガッカリ。というか、ガックリ。有孔虫は虫じゃないよ。わざわざ寄稿してもらった子に笑われる、っていうか失礼だろ。 ▼といったことをツイッターで書いたら、担当編集者だという人（ @Schunag ）から、以下のような返事が来た。 @ kmoriyama 『理系の子』の袖の文言の不備につきご指摘いただき、汗顔の至りです。私も今回の書籍を編集する際にざっと調べただけですゆえ正確な文言が何であるかは自信はありませんが、いわゆる「虫」に当たらぬことは存じているつもりでしたが、カバー袖の文言ということで、つい端折ってしまった結果、単なる「端折り」ではなく、不正確な文言となってしまったことはお恥ずかしい限りです。まして科学の本ですから、こうした不正確さは、ご指摘のとおり、非常な失点であると考えます。 「寄稿してもらった子に（略）失礼だろ」とのご指摘はおっしゃるとおりです。今後はいっそう気をつけて参りたいと思います。どうぞ今後とも、何かお気 ...
