▼年末年始に読む本がいろいろ来た。『 ステーキ！ 世界一の牛肉を探す旅 』がなんとも言えず面白い。ラスコー洞窟に行ってるかと思えば日本に来て松坂牛まで食べている著者がのりのりで牛肉というよりステーキへの愛をひたすら語っているような本。間違いなく焼いた肉が食いたくなる。
▼先日最終回が放送されたキムタクの「南極大陸」をビデオで見た。あの時代の話だけで１０話引っ張るんじゃなくて、一話完結のオムニバス形式で、あの時代から『 南極料理人 』みたいな最近の話までを１０話やってくれれば良かったのにな。そうなるとキムタク主演とかそういう話はなくなってしまうわけだが。
▼今年の帰省はパソコンを持たずに帰ろうと思っていたのだが、やはりパソコン持参になりそうだ。まったく。

▼久しぶりに新宿に出た。人が山ほどで疲れる。高島屋のイルミネーションは今年は太陽電池とLEDを使ったこじんまりしたものになっていた。
▼ルンバの掃除、今日はえらくあっさり終わった。初日に時間がかかったのは、やっぱり、それだけホコリが多かったということだろうか。今日も昨日に続いてホットカーペットのコントローラーの上でスタックしてしまったが。あと玄関先でまた落ちたので、玄関の上がり口のそばから靴を離して、段差を分かりやすくしてやった。
▼言葉を選ばず言ってしまうと、ルンバは、バカみたいに掃除をやり続ける。人間だったらそんなに時間かけてやんないよ、というくらいの時間をかけて掃除を行う。
▼ルンバに限らないのだが、掃除ロボットを見てると、２点のことが良く分かる。なるほど掃除というのは基本的に「時間と回数」なんだなということと、環境の構造化が肝なんだな、ということだ。ルンバは、前者は部屋の隅に置きっぱなしにしておくこと、そしてロボットであることから、後者は「ロボットだから仕方ないよね」という認識を人間に与えて人間を動かすことで実現している。
