▼花火を見に行った。風向きのせいで花火の燃えかすが落ちてくるなか、花火の音を堪能した。
▼帰宅してから、録画していたNHKスペシャル「 原爆投下 活かされなかった極秘情報 」を見た。日本軍は米軍が原爆開発に成功したことを知っていたし、原爆投下が計画されていたこと、「エノラ・ゲイ」がテニアン島から出撃したことさえも知っていた、という内容のドキュメンタリー。もし空襲警報が鳴っていれば、それだけでも大勢の人が助かったはずだという。
▼だが参謀本部はそれを認めなかった。V600番台のコールサインを持つ特殊任務機が飛んだらそれを迎撃すべしとされていながら、そしてそれが傍受されており参謀本部でもその情報を５時間も前に把握していたものの、「長崎」の時にも何もしなかった。
▼参謀本部まで情報が実際に届いていたとは。番組では実際にそのコールサインを傍受した人や、「紫電改」に乗っていたときに広島の原爆が炸裂した瞬間に遭遇した人まで出演して、いろいろ語っていた。当時の人たちの悔しさややり切れなさは想像するにあまりある。大変力作の、衝撃的な内容のドキュメンタリーだったが、それにしてもなぜ、６６年もこんな ...

▼神保町へ。小学館ビルの地下にある「 レストラン七條 」というお店で、昔の会社の同期３人と晩御飯。皆、それなりの年齢なので肩書きは非常に立派になっている。料理は定番らしきエビフライのほか、鴨とフォアグラだのカキだのウニだの、ステーキだの、牛テールのハヤシライスだの。幹事のおかげでスペシャルの鯛まで登場した。贅沢三昧。外食自体超久しぶりで、美味かった。ごちそうさまでした。
